Dr Stanton completed post-graduate medicine at the Australian National University in 2007 and was awarded fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2016 after training in NSW and QLD. During this specialist training Dr Stanton also completed a Master of Public Health through the University of Sydney.

Dr Stanton works privately throughout Brisbane and is publicly appointed at The Prince Charles Hospital. Dr Stanton is interested in patient safety and co-chairs the patient safety anaesthesia portfolio at the Prince Charles. She provides anaesthesia across a range of adult surgical specialties with a focus on a compassionate, high quality, patient-centred care.
