Dr Sarah Bowman completed specialist training in 2016 having trained in London, Sydney and now finding a home in Brisbane. Currently appointed at a Staff specialist at QEII hospital. She has a passion for exemplary patient care, actively participating in the latest research in Anaesthesia. She is accredited at most Brisbane private hospitals. She is an academic title holder as a senior lecturer in Anaesthetics at UQ.

Dr Cameron graduated medicine with first class honours from the University of Queensland in 2010. In 2020 she was awarded her Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. During specialist training she completed her provisional fellowship training in Hepatobiliary and Transplant Anaesthesia at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.
Dr Cameron is dedicated to the education of anaesthetists and other doctors in her role as Consultant Senior Medical Officer at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. She has a special interest in simulation for education and clinician welfare and is a Senior Lecturer with the University of Queensland.
Dr Cameron currently provides Anaesthesia services for a broad range of adult surgical procedures across both public and private sectors. She is passionate about providing tailored, expert quality anaesthetic care. Outside of medicine, Dr Cameron enjoys great coffee, reading and visiting the Sunshine Coast with her family.

Background
Dr Coward completed her undergraduate medical training at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK in 1996. After moving out to Australia, she commenced her anaesthetic training in 1998, working in both Brisbane and regional centres. She went on to receive her Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) in 2004.
She completed a fellowship in paediatric and adult anaesthesia at the Mater Hospitals and continued to work as a VMO at both the Mater Children’s Hospital and then the Queensland Children’s hospital until 2015. Whilst initially combining public and private practice, she now works solely in private practice at several hospitals throughout Brisbane.
Dr Coward has a varied practice which includes most surgical specialties. She has a particular interest in Paediatrics, ENT, difficult airways, Bariatrics and Opthalmology.
Dr Coward has an active role in the education of trainees.
Outside Interests
Outside of work, Dr Coward enjoys spending time with her family and 3 children. She enjoys travelling and loves the beach and the snow.

Dr Dewhirst completed her undergraduate medical degree at the University of Melbourne in 2007. She undertook anaesthesia training in both Australia and the United States and has been awarded Board Certification with the American Board of Anesthesiology, as well as Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.
Dr Dewhirst completed subspecialty training in paediatric anaesthesia at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She holds a current appointment as Senior Medical Officer at Queensland Children's Hospital and also works with adult and paediatric patients at several private hospitals around Brisbane.
Dr Dewhirst enjoys caring for patients undergoing a wide range of surgical procedures, and has special interest in paediatric anaesthesia, and anaesthesia for ENT, plastic and orthopaedic surgery.

Dr Agustina Frankel completed her medical training at the University of Queensland. She completed her Anaesthesia Fellowship at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, with a focus on neuroanaesthesia, and attained further tertiary education in Pain Management at the University of Sydney.
Her special areas of interest are neuroanaesthesia, plastic and reconstructive surgery, general surgery, and pain management.

Dr Kate Fry completed her medical degree in South Australia before moving to Queensland during post graduate anaesthesia training.
She spent several years in Western Canada and undertook dual fellowships in Paediatric and Cardiac Anaesthesia. Since then, she has held senior positions at both Mater and Queensland Children’s Hospitals.
She loves working with children and prides herself on making each experience as calm and minimally stressful as possible.
Kate has an interest in neurolinguists, hypnosis and mindfulness and how these can be used to make everyone feel safe and relaxed in stressful circumstances.
Outside her busy schedule she loves to hike and camp immersed in nature.

Dr Knowlman graduated medicine at Bond University in 2010, and worked as a junior doctor in several Brisbane hospitals. He trained in anaesthesia in New Zealand, working in Wellington and surrounding hospitals, being awarded his Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2018. He subsequently undertook a fellowship in Obstetric Anaesthesia at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, UK in 2019.
Tim works in public practice at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and in private practice at most Brisbane private hospitals, providing anaesthesia services for a broad range of adult surgical subspecialties. His special interests include obstetrics (labour and deliveries), gynaecological surgery and robotic surgery. He is actively involved in the education and training of junior anaesthetists as well as peer mentorship and clinician welfare.

My Professional History
Dr Koorts finished medical school in Pretoria South Africa in 1994. After internship and working in the UK and Cape Town, she commenced anaesthetic training in Pretoria. She was successful in the MMed exam and obtained the Fellowship of the South African College in 2002. She then completed a fellowship at Monash Medical Centre during 2003 and 2004. Dr Koorts started at RBWH in 2007 and has consistently aimed to maintain and improve her clinical skills. She has maintained an interest in teaching and ANZCA activities. Dr Koorts joined St Andrew’s Anaesthesia in 2015 and has enjoyed the addition of private work, while maintaining her public hospital commitment. /p>

Dr. Thar Nyan Lwin is a specialist Anaesthetist with national and international fellowship training in Echocardiography, Cardiothoracic and Neuroanaesthesia.
Dr. Lwin has previously served as a consultant in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia, Intensive Care and ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) at the renowned Royal Papworth Hospital (Cambridge, United Kingdom). He is currently appointed as a staff specialist Cardiothoracic Anaesthetist at The Prince Charles Hospital and works in private practice at various hospitals throughout Brisbane.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Lwin is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and a Supervisor of Training for the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. His research interests include perioperative neurosciences and coagulation management during cardiac surgery.

Professional History
Dr Mary O'Shea completed her medical training in Ireland before moving to Australia. She trained in anaesthesia in Queensland and completed a fellowship at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane with a special interest in regional anaesthesia and pain.
She currently works in public at the Prince Charles hospital and privately at most Brisbane private hospitals. Her special interests include neurosurgery, including deep brain stimulation and spine surgery, ophthalmic and regional anaesthesia.
She is committed to education and training and is a supervisor of training for the current anaesthesia trainees.
Dr O’Shea has a strong interest in sustainable health practices and is a member of The Prince Charles Sustainability Committee, the statewide perioperative environmental accountability group, and the ANZCA Environmental Sustainability Network.

Dr Rawlins is passionate about providing the highest level of patient care to ensure good outcomes and patient safety during anaesthesia, and post-operative pain relief.
Dr Rawlins is interested in all aspects of adult anaesthesia, and sub-specialises in cardiothoracic anaesthesia, perfusion, and trans-oesophageal echocardiography.
Professional Biography:
Dr Rawlins was awarded her medical degree from the University of London in 2004. She started specialist anaesthetic training in the UK before moving to Australia in 2009. She completed her specialist training in Brisbane in 2013. Dr Rawlins has a special interest in cardiothoracic anaesthesia, and undertook a subspecialty fellowship in cardiac anaesthesia and perfusion at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane. She continues to work in this field, and was appointed Director of Cardiac Anaesthesia at Princess Alexandra Hospital in 2017. She attends the majority of Brisbane’s private hospitals, and is a highly respected member of the Brisbane anaesthetic community.
Other:
Dr Rawlins has interests in training anaesthetists in advanced life support (ALS), and has convened national and international courses designed specifically to educate anaesthetists about ALS in the peri-operative environment. Dr Rawlins has been involved in trainee education and welfare as a supervisor of training with ANZCA. She is a Senior Lecturer with the University of Queensland.

Profile:
Dr Ashton Speed graduated from James Cook University School of Medicine in 2011. She undertook her post- graduate training in anaesthesia in Far North and South East Queensland. Ashton has an interest in the provision of anaesthesia to paediatric and obstetric patients. Ashton furthered her skills in these sub-specialist areas through completion of additional fellowship training at the Queensland Children’s Hospital, Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne and Mater Adults and Mother’s Hospital Brisbane. Ashton also the values the role that an anaesthetist places in the perioperative optimisation and enhanced perioperative outcomes of their patients. She works collaboratively with her medical and surgical colleagues to ensure her patients have a safe and positive perioperative journey. To further her knowledge and skills in this area, Ashton has completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Perioperative Medicine through Monash University.
Dr Speed has an interest in clinical education and holds a public appointment as a staff specialist at GCUH where she engages in teaching and training of trainee anaesthetic doctors and medical students.
Dr Speed has been in private practice since 2021. Her areas of anaesthesia practice include paediatric anaesthesia, ENT, orthopaedics, gastrointestinal surgery, urology, ophthalmology, breast & endocrine surgery, dental surgery, gynaecological and obstetric anaesthesia. Outside of her medical anaesthetic practice, Ashton enjoys being outdoors, keeping active and fit and most importantly spending time with her husband and children.

Associate Professor David Sturgess is a specialist anaesthetist with additional specialist registrations in General Practice and Intensive Care Medicine. As well as maintaining a busy private practice, he is the Clinical Director of Anaesthesia at the newly commissioned Surgical Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS) at Herston and the Director of Intensive Care Medicine at the North West Private Hospital, Brisbane, Australia.
A/Prof Sturgess' clinical interests in adult anaesthesia include Neuro Surgery, Urology, Gynaecology, General Surgery and Vascular Surgery
A/Prof Sturgess' doctoral thesis focused upon the non-invasive evaluation of heart function during life threatening infection. This culminated in award of a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD), in the Discipline of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, from The University of Queensland. A/Prof Sturgess maintains a keen interest in haemodynamic monitoring and echocardiography. The scope of his current research interests has broadened and is best collated under the theme of Perioperative Care. Collaborations include exploration of interactions between opioids, regional anaesthesia and cancer recurrence; perioperative nutrition and hyperglycaemia; analysis and interpretation of large observational perioperative datasets; obstetric anaesthesia and critical care; implementation science; as well as risk stratification of acute coronary syndromes using echocardiography.
He enjoys spending time with his teenage children, playing guitar and staying fit.
