Talking to your anaesthetist

You will have an opportunity to speak with the anaesthetist on the day of the procedure. The Anaesthetist will ask about any medical problems, previous experiences with anaesthetics, allergies, and if your child has had any recent coughs, colds or fevers. Any medications your child may be taking will be relevant and it is helpful to bring these to hospital with you.

Some anaesthetists will call you a day or two prior to the procedure to discuss any concerns you have and to also get a brief medical history.

If you would like to speak with the anaesthetist about any specific concerns you may have, please contact our rooms so we can facilitate this.
